© Jana Runnalls, August 2005"What, where and how is the balance brought about between our feminine and masculine energies? Looking at the tangle that our current socio-political structures create in our spiritual understanding of life, it is hardly surprising that we are very confused about how to find balance in ourselves. We are disempowered in such a fundamental way through not trusting or believing in our perceptions of the world unless they are dictated by an exterior hierarchical system of achievement and power. This is an extremely one-sided externalised experience of life on earth. In fact, it is our essential life-force that is turned inside-out, literally. Within a distorted framework of patriarchal political paranoia, we must find courage to speak from our own individual view-point, from our own unique soul perception. We are, in fact, all still living in an extremely male-dominated world, in which REAL feminine qualities continue to be invisibilized, overlooked, diminished and violated. What then, is the Sacred Marriage? It is an exploration into finding a deep, spiritual solution to the imbalance between both our worldly male and female energies as well as our divine archetypes of Goddess and God. This is not simplistic new-age jargon for finding holistic healing, it is an absolute necessity for all of us who seek deep spiritual solutions to a crisis in which the marriage of opposites is simply not being addressed on either a personal or global scale. Firstly, we must look at our "worldly" male and female energies… both the wounded and healthy aspects of how we run our day-to-day lives and with what sort of “mother-father” relationships. We will continue to remain like powerless children until we take control of the direction of lives in a real way. Meaning, growing up beyond the need for approval from either mother or father figures, or fighting their "power" over us. I feel that we are still firmly caught in a web of dogmatic religious illusion, because we don't know how to access divine energy in our lives. What is "sacred" energy? It sounds simple enough… However, if we are at war within ourselves, whether it is mind fighting emotions, or body fighting spirit, then we are certainly a long way from understanding Divine Grace. Working with sacred energy requires that we reach into our Higher Selves and take responsibility for our own inner wounded child. It means allowing oneself to be totally alone with it. Except that we are never alone - we are always connected to divine energy deep within us. Take a long look inside yourself. Do you blame others for your feelings of disempowerment? Feelings of failure, judgement of others, guilt-tripping, victim-tunnels, helplessness in the face of others "apparent success? The list is seemingly endless. This is wounded energy " the hurt child inside. This is where we begin to look at some of the wounded or dysfunctional aspects of both our worldly feminine and masculine patterns of behaviour." |
